Name Humulus lupulus (L. cultivar Phoenix) Trichome isolated from the female flower at mid-developmental stage
Organism Humulus lupulus
Tissue Trichome isolated from the female flower
Stage female flower at mid-developmental stage
Description Vector: pDNR-LIB; Site_1: Sfi IA (GGCCATTACGGCC); Site_2: Sfi IB (GGCCGCCTCGGCC); The mid-developmental stage female flower (cone) of Hops (Humulus lupulus) plants, cultivar Phoenix, were collected form plants grown at the Hop Research Institite, Wye, Kent, UK. The cones were stripped off the branches, and the largest cones (which were unlikely to develop much further), and the smaller cones (which contain few trichomes) were discarded. Total RNA isolated from hops trichome prepared by shaking the cones in a 50 mL tubes by using Cold-Phenol protocol. The cDNA library from hops trichome was constructed using the Creator Smart cDNA library construction kit (Clontech, Palo Alto, CA, USA) following the manufacturer's protocol for total RNA.
